The exhibition “Old Story / New Twists” includes four young artists and each of them uses a different expressive medium: painting, photography, sculpture and mixed-media. The aim of this exhibition is to show some recent developments of European contemporary art, concerning representation and narration, far from the universe of conceptual art. These developments prove a newfound pleasure in the art of describing objects and telling stories: this old “taste” for imitation and narration, that has been abandoned for a long period in which the artistic purpose overcame the talent and the ability, seems to come back to life in a generation of young artists with a great talent in both technique and expressivity.
The artists selected for the exhibition are Andreas Senoner, sculptor from Trentino – Alto Adige, born in 1982, trained in Italy, Spain and USA; his anthropomorphic wooden sculptures were displayed at the Italian Pavilion of the 54th Biennale di Venezia. Carolin Jörg from Germany, exhibits some art installations in the category “mixed media”. In the categories of painting and photography there are Gaël Davrinche and Alain Delorme, both from France: Davrinche is already part of several museum collections in France and displays for the first time in Italy his oil paintings and acrylic paintings on paper, which show the big influence of great masters of modern art; Delorme, for the first time in Italy too, displays some photographs from the series “Totems”, realized in Shanghai between 2010 and 2011.
